I’ve been doing everything I can to keep my mind from wandering to the tragedy of last week (though not always successfully).
We had a steady and ongoing downpour of rain yesterday, so I spent the day on the sofa, attending to the books that had been waiting to be read.

Miez is dead.
We found her drowned in a rain water collector.
Stupidly, the owner of the rain water basin failed to put a two x four in it and/or failed to cover it.
Fucking stupid. Tragically sad.
I’m feeling so empty.
She deserved better.
Little fighter that she was.
I’m crying.

Tirol was beautiful – just as I remembered it from half a year ago. It was just undescribably beautiful and wonderful to be back in the mountains on two wheels.

I went to the supermarket this evening to grab just the basic necessities of what I had run out of – my staples, if you will (they are bananas, coffee, milk, mineral water and beer). As long as I have those items stocked, I am fine.
